Speechless....

So, as being a mother of all boys, I have had MANY "memories" of various instances that have flooded my mind throughout the years.  Hayden with his "treasure hunting" incident, Landon with his random sayings at the most inopportune moment, and who can forget Carson's slippin' slidin' escapade in his own poop.  I know I say this everytime I have a new story about the boys but it's like every story seems to top the one before.

The following story should only be for fathers to handle, not mothers.

So the other night as I'm giving Landon his bath I go to the linen closet to get his towel and as I'm walking back into the bathroom I notice he is on the verge of tears.  As I get closer I notice that his "manhood" is saluting me and he's trying to hide it.  I of course NEVER bring that to attention unless they do and only then do I make a comment to try and distract away from the situation.  So I never said a word about it but couldn't help but ask him why he was so upset.  "It won't go back down" he says in a semi-scared little voice.  "Just leave it alone", I said as I was trying to dry him off.  "But it won't go down mama, I keep mashing it and it just keep standing up, is it gonna break?"

EEEEEEEKKKKKKK! What do you say to that?

So instead of trying to figure out what to tell him I said the only thing I knew to say....."Go ask your father"

he he he he he : )

So it's then that I realize how VERY different men and women / fathers and mothers are.  Landon goes to ask his daddy what to do in this horrific situation and you know what he says?

"Stop playing with it and it'll go back down"

Really?  That's all you have to say?  And you know what?  Landon was perfectly fine with that answer and went on about his night like nothing ever happened.

UGH!

I need an ALL GIRLS weekend getaway, anybody up for it?

Dear Disney Pixar/Writers of Toy Story 3:

What the crap?!!!!!!  Don't get me wrong I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED the movie.  There were many times where I was laughing out loud and the story line was perfect but could you please warn a sister that she was gonna need a kleenex!

Thank You,
from a mom who's realized her children are growing up WAY too fast.

I just can't seem to keep up...

This blog is beginning to get the best of me.  I mean I would love to sit down everynight and post about the day's events but let's face it, with 3 boys running around like monkey's on speed, it ain't gonna happen.  A lot has happened since my last post, SEC Baseball tournament, Landon's 4th birthday, and your typical boy adventures.  Let's start off with the SEC baseball tournament shall we...

Several weeks ago the boys got to go watch Alabama play in the SEC tournament and they loved it!

Former Cullman Bearcat Josh Rutledge, Eugene and Hayden are becoming somewhat of a stalker when it comes to this guy, seriously.

Gotta love 'em

A few shots from Landon's pool party birthday.  It was absolutely the most perfect day to hang out at the pool, grill some burgers and hotdogs, and eat cake : )

The birthday boy!  I promise that's not a booger hanging from his nose, it's a scab from being punched in the nose by a 7 year ol boy at the ball park (long story, don't get me started, let's just say "mama took care of business")

Hayden

Carson and Aunt Ashley acting a fool

What's pool party without a dinosaur cake?

Thanks to everyone for the wonderful gifts!

These next photos leave me speechless, really.

I know what you're thinking "Why are you letting him play in his clothes?" Well to be honest I wasn't outside when all this started to occur, it was their daddy watching them, does that explaing things?  Mmm hmm I thought so.  It's amazing what a little spray and wash and oxyclean can do ; )

A face only a mother could love.

I cannot begin to explain the smell that reeked from their little bodies when they were through playing.

Boys are SO gross!!!

As I sit here typing this post there are many thoughts running through my head.  Thoughts about how disgusting little boys can be, all the future disgusting moments I am sure to face throughout the coming years and my poor daughters-in-law (please note I apologize YEARS in advance for what my sweet little boys will do as your husband).

We all know that boys stink, that's a given.  It doesn't matter if you've just given them a bath and got them to smelling the best that they can possibly smell.  Give them 5 minutes outside and they'll come in smelling like they haven't bathed in a week.  What's up with that?

I have had many "gross" stories over the past 6 1/2 years, poop running out the diaper of Carson while playing in his exersaucer and he's slippin' and slidin' across the bottom and got is squished between his toes, Landon throwing up in the bathtub, TWICE in one day, Hayden pulling severed worms from his pocket and asking me to kiss it.  The list goes on and on but this particular incident make have taken the cake...

Monday when I came home I did my usual routine of straightening up the house from the "tornado" that comes through everyday about 4:00.  I got to the boys bathroom and noticed the hand towels were just thrown on the towel rack and not neatly folded like they normally are.  At first I was pleased because they had obviously washed their dirty little hands and dried them off.  I grabbed one towel to fold it and started to hang it back up when I noticed there was something smeared all over it.  The closer I got to inspect it I noticed what it was, the smell hit me instantly as I leaned in for a closer look.  Yep, you guessed it, it was poop!

I immediately called in the suspects to interrogate and as soon as Landon saw me holding the towel in my hand he yelled "But mama I couldn't help it!"  Apparently what had happened was he went to use the restroom and ran out of tissue and decided to grab the closest thing he could find instead of asking Me-Maw to bring him some more tissue.  Whatever!  I just wished he would have put it in the hamper like he normally does with his dirty clothes.

Luckily I caught it in time because Eugene always shaves in the boys bathroom and grabs the hand towel to dry off his face.  I can just see him coming out of the bathroom with poop all over his face.  BLAH!!

Wow! I've been MIA!

So I'm checking up on some favorite blogs and realize that it's been a while since I've posted anything and I see the last post I made and it's been over 2 months ago!  It will be impossible to catch up on everything that has happened in the last two months so I'm just gonna give you a quick run down....

I started a new job on March 22nd and I absolutely love it!!!  Seriously I can't say enough about it.  Just the fact that I go home in the afternoon and don't have to worry about every "T" being crossed or every "I" dotted makes all the difference in the world.  Hayden started baseball and he actually just finished his last regular season game last night and lost :( but overall he had an awesome year and I couldn't be more proud of him.  It's amazing to see the difference from year to year as far as how he plays the game and how he HATES to lose.  Yesterday was his last day of kindergarten and I don't know where the year went.  Before I can blink my eyes he will be graduating from high school (YIKES, I don't even want to think about that right now)  Landon will turn 4 next saturday and he is one funny kid.  He can say some of the funniest things sometimes and I just sit back and laugh at him.  He has become and awesome big brother and takes care of little Carson like a little mama hen.  Carson just turned a year old in April and I'll say it again "Where does the time go?"   He's walking all over the place and getting into more things than you could imagine.  His temperment has started to come out and I'm worried about the years to come when I have 3 "men" with attitudes.  As a friend of mine has always said "There is a special place in heaven for mothers of boys" and oh how I hope she's right about that :)

Boycotting Tanning Beds

I will be the first to admit that I like getting my tan on every year before the summer heat makes it's debut cause let's face it, fat looks better tan.  Now I've tried the sunless tanners and they either leave you orange and streaky or smelling for days.  I did however find one sunless tanner that I like although it still makes you smell a little.  It's called Fake Bake and it leaves you with a fairly natural looking tan.  The down side to this is that it recommends you wear gloves while applying, wait 30 minutes before dressing and no shower for 6-8 hours.  And let's not forget the time it takes to rub it all in and make sure you're not leaving yourself looking like a zebra.  The up side however is that you're not risking ruining the look of your skin and skin cancer.

I guess you could say that I'm lazy cause I don't like to use a sunless tanner, I would much rather go to a tanning salon and spend about 15 minutes cooking my flesh.  Stupid I know.  I know the risks of using a tanning bed and I should be ashamed at myself for using them because not alot of people know this but I have had probably 25-30 moles/nevus removed from various parts of my body over the period of about 12 years and the last 8-10 biopsies I have had have come back dysplastic or pre-cancerous.

I had my yearly dermatology appointment today, she removed another 4 spots and I should know the results within a week.

It finally hit me today that I should stop tanning.  One of the previous biopsies she did last year has come back so I will have to have it cut out and stitched instead of just shaved off.  She said it's not a good sign when a dysplastic nevus comes back in the same spot.  I'm really nervous about having this done and even more nervous about the results.  We will set up another appointment to have this procedure done after she gets the results from todays biopsies.

I'm praying that everything will be ok.

Alabama vs. Georgia Baseball

Wednesday night the boys got the priviledge of going to an Alabama baseball game at the Hoover Met.  I was a little concerned about them going since it was SO cold outside but Eugene went and bought some essentials and they were on their way.

Had to make a pit stop to Guthries Chicken for dinner.  The thought of spending $6 for a ballpark hotdog makes me sick to think about it even though they are OH SO GOOD.

Pop and his boys trying to stay warm

Don't you just love the snuggie, especially in crimson and white ; )

Indiana Jones

As a mom of 3 boys I have prepared myself mentally for alot of bumps, bruises, scratches, stitches, broken bones and all the other things that boys can get themselves into, but NOTHING prepared me for the event that occured this past Friday...

Friday afternoon around 2 o'clock my motherin-in law calls me and this is the conversation we have

MIL: "Hey, what are you doing?"
Me: "working, is everything ok?"
MIL: "well I have a little bit of an emergency, You see I picked up Hayden a little early from school since it's so nice outside so he and Landon could play a while before you came to pick them up, and they were in the back yard digging in the garden"
Me: "Who cut their finger off?"
MIL: "Oh, no, everyone has all their fingers and toes, but umm, they've cut a water line and water's going all over the place and I'm trying to figure out how to cut it off.  I've call the water dept and they should be here shortly but Carson's crying and sleepy and I'm trying to get the boys in the house and get them dry.
Me:  "I'll be right there"

Friday was a light day for us so I decided to go ahead and leave in order to help her out.

The whole time I'm driving I keep thinking "How bad could it be right?"  I mean Hayden is a 57 lb. 6 year old and water lines are USUALLY buried at least 2-3 feet deep.  As I pull up to ther hous this is what I see in the back yard

Seriously, what was he using, an ice pick?!!!!!

This is the story I got from Hayden...

Me: "Hayden, what happened?"
Hayden: "Well me and Landon were outside digging and I saw this blue thing and I told Landon that I found some treasure, so when I tried to dig it up one last time it started shooting water everywhere.  I'm so sorry mama, I didn't know it was going to shoot water everywhere"

Precious.

Luckily neither one of them got hurt.  Although I think my MIL needed a zanax by the time it was all over.  : )

Carson's First Tractor Ride

Was this past weekend not beautiful or what?  I know it was short lived since the high's are suppose to stay in the 40's this week (blah), but I think the good Lord kinda threw us a bone and said "Enough of the frigid weather, here's a taste of what's to come in the near months".  Even though it was a bit of a tease I will thank Him nonetheless.

Since the weather was cooperating I thought it would be the perfect time to let Carson enjoy some country living at its finest.  We drove out to the "farm" and showed him all the "livestock" (horses, goats, chickens, cats, dogs, etc.) and he loved it!  He was a little leary at first standing face to face with the horses considering his whole body is nearly as big as their face but he opened up to them well and started patting their noses.  Too sweet.

Papa then decided Carson should take his first ride on the tractor so he sat him in his lap and off they went up through the pasture and down the driveway.  He enjoyed it so much I don't think he wanted to get off.  Come to think of it, I don't know who enjoyed it more, him or Papa : )

Trying to eat the gravel

Couldn't you just kiss that face to pieces

Landon is trying to make Carson look at the camera to take a picture, brotherly love at its best

Thanks Papa and Nana for letting us come spend the day with you.  We love you!!!!

President Hayden?

Hayden is learning a few things in history this semester and apparently they have been talking about the first president of the United States.  This was our conversation on the way to school this morning...

Hayden:  Is it George Washington?
Me:  What?
Hayden:  George Washington, is that his name?
Me:  Yes, and who is George Washington?
Hayden:  He's a really big statue and was the greatest guy EVER!
Me:  Well, ok?  He was also the very first president of the United States.
Hayden:  OH,.......was I the second?
Me:  Ummmm, no

Too funny! Who knows, maybe he will be president one day and fix some of the problems that face us today. ; )

BASAGNA!

Wednesday night I asked Hayden what he wanted for dinner and he replied with "I don't know, I'm not real hungry", which was rather weird since this child usually can eat more than I can.  Landon pipes up and says "Oooh mama, ask me what I want".

OK, Landon what do you want?

Standing there rummaging through the pantry he says
Umm, I think my take.....BAZAGNA!

I don't have all the stuff to make lasagna tonight, how about tomorrow night?

Ok

So yesterday evening I made a pitstop to the grocery store and got all the ingredients I needed.  I decided to make an extra special lasagna by using fresh garlic, basil, tomatoes, etc.  I usually just make it from canned spaghetti sauce, which is just as good and way easier but I was feeling a little daring last night and decided to try something different.

I get home around 4:45 and get to cooking, chopping my garlic, onion, bell pepper, herbs, etc.  I finally get the lasagna in the oven an hour later.  Who knew it would take so long to make "extra special lasagna"?  It took a lot longer than I expected for it to cook through considering I doubled my recipe.  I bet I heard Landon say a dozen times..."Is my basagna done yet?"  I kept reassuring him that it was almost ready.

When we finally sat down for dinner it was nearly 7:30 so I knew he would be starving by then.  I got his plate ready and sat id down on the table in front of him and he looks at it and says "I don't want this, I want a peanut butter sammich."

My eyes began to twitch uncontrollably at this point.

Eugene leans over to him and says "Do you remember what the rule is about dinner?"

The rule is that mama cooks one meal a night, not 3 or 4 different meals in order to please everyone's cravings, so you can either eat what's on the table do without, please don't judge me.  I know it's  a very hard rule to make a 3 year old understand but he's getting there.

So after what seemed like hours he finanlly finished most of his dinner and all was good at the Stancil house.

Happy Birthday Eugene!

We celebrated Eugene's 30th birthday this past weekend, although he keeps reminding me that he won't officially be 30 until thursday, but whatever.  My how the time flies by.  The first birthday I celebrated with Eugene was his 18th birthday.  It literally seems like yesterday that he was 18 again (although he still acts like it sometimes ; > ).  We've been through a lot these past 12 years and I look forward to spending many more birthdays with him.  Happy Birthday Honey!  I love you more than you will ever know!

For more photos of the cake check it our here

Sick Kiddos

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted, we've been super busy lately.  Between me having surgery (everything went great by the way, thanks for the prayers), Hayden having homework every night, and just the all around mama work  that has to be done I've not had much time to do any blogging.  So it's time to play catch up. : )

We celebrated Eugene's 30th birthday this past weekend, although he keeps reminding me that he won't officially be 30 until this thursday.  Our plans were to have all our parents and siblings meet us for dinner Saturday night but all that changed when Landon woke up saturday morning with a nasty looking rash from head to toe.  Since I was busy making the birthday cake Eugene took little man to urgent care.  I was trying to think of everything that he'd eaten the past 24 hours that could have caused this, nothing came to mind.

Diagnosis:  Strep throat

I was really confused that strep was the diagnosis since he wasn't runny a fever or complaining of his throat hurting, but low and behold the test came back positive.  Dr Oliver said that a rash is a sure fire sign of strep, weird huh?  So needless to say he wasn't going to the party and infect everyone else so my mom graciously volunteered to keep the boys so we wouldn't have to change our plans (Thanks mom, you're the best).  So Saturday night Hayden woke up around midnight wanting something to drink and complaining that his throat hurt.  GREAT!  I checked his temp and it was 101.2.  Poor guy.  All day Sunday he stayed on the couch wrapped up ina blanket.  He never ate a thing all day Sunday and only got off the couch to go to the bathroom.  So yesterday I stayed home with them and took him and Carson to the doctor.  Surprisingly neither of them had strep but they gave them both a antibiotic and decongestant anyway.  They are feeling much better this morning and I couldn't be happier.

Was my face red?

Every Friday is library day for Hayden's class,  so this past Friday Hayden picked out a new book entitled "PIGS".  So Tuesday was the first night I had read the book to them ( I know, I'm behind).  The book talks about the many different kinds of pigs and where they orginated from, how big they can grow to, things that are made from pigs (which let me tell you right now was NOT a good thing to put in a children's book, I don't think Landon will eat bacon again and everytime Hayden picks up his football he looks at me with a pitiful look on his face, points to the ball and says "This is a pig?"), and then the book talked a little bit about how pigs feed their young.  Have you figured out where I'm going with this yet?

So as soon as I begin reading about how pigs feed their babies Hayden pipes up and says

"Oh, I know the answer to this"

"You do?", I asked

"Yep", he leans up toward me and mashes his hand againt my chest and says "They feed their babies with these just like you did Carson"

"That's right!",  I said as I tried not to make a big discussion about it.  He then proceeds to tell me this...

"Yep, that's what I told them when Mrs. Williams read us the book today"

"What? You told who?", I asked

"My class", he said "I told them that pigs feed their babies like you fed Carson, you know, with your boobies"

Blank stare, crickets are chirpping

I'm surprised there wasn't a letter sent home form his techer.  Even though I wasn't there to witness this educational speech my son made to his ENTIRE class, my face turned every shade of red that there is.  So Sarah if you need someone to assist you on your consultations with new moms, I know just the right person to help ; )

Feeling a little panicked

So tomorrow I'm having a minor little outpatient procedure and I'm finding myself starting to freak a little bit.  I mean I work in the OR and I know everything that goes on back there but when the shoe is on the other foot it's a bit different.  I guess I'm a little crazy for feeling so scared cause let's face it I've had 3 c-sections so I know how all this works.  I guess it's the fear of being put to sleep and not being in control and relying on someone else to take care of you while you're in La La Land.  I know that the MDA's and CRNA's do this everyday but I'm still feeling sick to my stomach about it.  So if any of you out there are prayer warriors could you squeak in a little prayer for me tomorrow.  Thanks :)

Hobby or Side Job?

Ok, so last spring I decided to try my hand at cake decorating.  I've always wanted to try this and love watching the Cake Challenges on Food Network.  It has always amazed me at what those people can do this cake.  So I finally got up the nerve and bought me a few piping bags and decorating tips and started practicing.  I finally got confident enough and made my first "decorated" cake for my sweet little Landon's 3rd birthday.  He requested a Lightning Mcqueen cake and this is what he got

Then at Landon's party my friend asked me "who made the cake?"  When I told her I did she then proceeds to say "Great!  Jacob wants a Spiderman cake for his birthday, will you make one?"  His birthday was in 3 weeks.  EEEK!

Ummm...ok?

I had NO idea what I was going to do, so I went to Hobby Lobby to see if they had a Spiderman cake pan, and they did so I immediately started practicing.  This one is the hardest of the ones I have made because of all those dang webs :)  This one is NOT the one that I made for the party, this is the first practice cake.  The first clue might have been that the piping at the bottom doesn't match.  I ran out of blue icing and had to finish with red

Then my eldest son puts in his birthday cake request 3 months in advance, which was great for me.  This is the request he made...

"Hey momma, I know what kind of birthday cake I want.  I want one that has my baseball jersey on it with my name on the back,"

"ok", I said

"and then could you put me at home plate using my orange and blue bat and me hitting the ball over the fence and the other team is running after the ball and they are trying to get me out"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa", I said.  I mean I had to put an end to it somewhere right, or else I would be trying to construct Yankee Stadium.

Since his birthday is during football season I talked him into a football jersey cake and I think he enjoyed it just as well

Ok, I just realized that I mispelled birthday and it's been 4 months ago.  Geez!

Ok, so let me know what you think.  Should I keep my day job or try my hand at making a little extra cash on the side?  I promise I'll learn how to spell between now and then :)

Happy Birthday Papa!

This weekend we went out to eat for Papa's birthday.  He turned the B-I-G 50!!!!!!  He wanted to eat at AJ's so we met them there and had a great meal and then they came back to our house for birthday cake.

Mom and I were wanting to surprise him with his cake but when your children see you make the cake they can't help but spill the beans.  The first thing out of Landon's mouth at the restaurant was...

"Papa, my mom made you a cowboy boot birthday cake!"

I mean it's kinda hard to keep it a secret when your children are watching your every move at making the cake.  Oh well, it was funny none the less.  Here's a few photos from Saturday night.

Look at those anxious little faces waiting to get some cake!

God Is In Our House....

Lately I've been talking the ears off our sweet heavenly Father and I know He has been listening with ears wide open.

Over the past SEVERAL months things at our household have been difficult and stressful to say the least.  I'll spare you the details.  Just know that I was afraid that my marriage of nearly 8 years was about to end.

Bare with me because I'm not sure why I have felt the need to tell my entire family and friends about this, especially through a blog post, but for some reason I feel the need to share.

Tuesday morning I was listening to "David and Russell in the Morning" on WDJC on my way to work and heard them make this statement...

"There's a reason to make your relationship work and that reason is Jesus."

It hit me like a ton of bricks.  They were absolutely right!  Jesus wants us to succeed in our marriages and He wants us to be together and He wants us to work our problems out, otherwise we wouldn't be together, right?

As I parked my car I began to pray.  I prayed that God would heal my marriage and make us stronger as a couple and to be the mother and father to our children that He wants and needs us to be.  I've come to the realization that I'm not in control.  HE is in control and if we would just let Him take over and give all our problems to Him, all will be well.

Now that was only two days ago and I can already see a transformation taking place between my husband and I.  There is finally a sense of peace there that I haven't felt in a very long time.  We will continue to fight for our marriage and let God be in control.  You know He has a pretty good track record when we obey Him and just let Him take over.

We are still trying to find a church home and I have a feeling we're getting close to achieving that.  Please keep us in your prayers as we still have a long way to go.

Love to all!

It makes my heart smile!

As any mother of more than one child will tell you, there can be some VERY stressful times regarding sibiling squabbles and quarrels.  Whether it's a knock down drag out fight or a temper tantrum because one or the other isn't sitting in the right seat at the dinner table.  And granted we have more "stressful" moments than not, but every  once in a while they surprise me and have a really sweet brotherly moment like this.....

As I came home yesterday afternoon the bigger boys were in the play room, Carson was in the living room playing with his toys and Eugene was in the kitchen cooking dinner...

I know, awesome right?  Even the hubs can be sweet when he wants to be ; )

So I walk into the play room and kinda peep my head around the door to see why they are so quiet and to my surprise I see them both sitting in the floor using their new magnadoodle things and Hayden is teaching Landon how to draw his shapes.  I watched quietly for a moment and then slowly made my appearence.  Their eyes light up light firecrackers when they saw me (which always makes my day) and then Landon says...

"Momma, loo look what my can do"

he was so excited he started stuttering

"Ok, show me", I said

He grabs his magnadoodle and "magic pencil" and draws a circle

"Look, it's a circle!"

"Wow!  That's great Landon!"

"Thanks", he replied with a huge smile on his face.

Hayden then looks up at me and grins and said "I teached him that"

PRECIOUS!

Oh how I LOVE me some sweet little boys.

WARNING........

The story I'm about to tell you is real and happened just this morning.  For those of you who have weak stomachs, you may not want to continue reading this post.

Seriously, you've been warned.

We all wake up this morning and start our usual routine.  I shower and start getting ready for work.  I'd put Carson in his little stationery bouncer thing and the boys are watching cartoons.  I finish getting ready and come back into the living room only to find the most disturbing mess I've EVER seen in my life.....

I've spared the photos so you all won't vomit all over yourselves.  :)

My sweet little baby boy has pooped......and it has exploded out of his diaper.  I stood there just looking at him in disbelief for what seemed like 10 minutes.  He turns around to look at me and just gives me the biggest grin you've ever seen.

LUCKILY,  the bouncer thing has a hard plastic bottom that he stands on or we would have been replacing the carpet.  His feet are slipping and sliding all over the bottom and there's poop squished between his toes, runny down his legs and somehow even got in his hair.  BLAH!

Landon, being the nosey little thing he is, starts inspecting the damage and asks "Mommy, what is all that?" , while making gagging noises.  I said right then and there "Go to your room until I get finished because I'm not cleaning up puke too."  I know it sounds a little harsh but I was seriously not in the mood to deal with vomit AND poop all in the same morning.  Nope, not happenin'

I carefully start taking Carson's clothes off while he's still in the bouncer, that way I could try and keep it all contained to one area and not have poop scattered everywhere.  I pick him up and head to the bathroom to give him a bath.  As I'm walking down the hallway holding him out as far as I possibly can, he starts laughing and kicking his legs, which in turn splatters poop all over me, the floor, AND the walls.

Really?  Is this really happening right now?

Thankfully everyone, including myself, came out of this incident unharmed and squeaky clean.....well everyone except the bouncer that is.  You see I got the thing at a yard sale for like $5 and I'm debating on whether to clean it or just trash it.

Oh who am I kidding, it's going to the dumpster right now!

Can I get some Phenergan over here please...

I know this sounds crazy but I woke up this morning feeling nauseous about tonight big game.

I mean it's just a game, right?

Oh who am I kidding?

It's the stinkin' National Championship Game and the Crimson Tide is FINALLY back on top after 17 LONG years!

I really hate to be one of those obnoxious Alabama fans that continuously talks about how many bowl games we've been to, and how many SEC championships we've won or even how many national championships we've won (which by the way is 55, 21 and 12 in case you were wondering) ;).

But even though I AM an abnoxious Alabama fan there is one thing that we as a Bama nation need to get over and that's Bear Bryant.  I mean yes, the man was a great coach and he did alot of great things at Alabama but he's not the coach anymore......he's dead.  And he's been dead for about 27 years now.

GET OVER IT PEOPLE!

Ahh, that feels better :)

Now......Can I get a ROLL TIDE for that???!!!!!!

Do you ever wonder if you're doing a good enough job as a parent?

I know I question my parenting skills quite often and wonder if I make the right decisions in diciplining my boys or giving the right answers to random questions asked by such wise little minds.

Since Eugene's grandmother passed away in April, Hayden has had several questions about God and why people die and things to that nature.  There were even some questions that I didn't know how to answer, questions that you wouldn't think a 6 year old would know to ask.

Struggling to answer his questions made me question my own faith.  Although I somehow answer his questions, I don't feel like it's enough to explain to him how awesome our God really is.

Do I believe there is a God?
Absolutely

Am I a Christian?
I like to think so

Have I been setting an example for my children?
Not so much. :(

It's my job as a parent to teach my children about Jesus and being a christian all the wonderful things that go along with that, and if I don't do that I have failed them and I've failed my heavenly Father.

Eugene and I are looking for a church to call home.  A church to where we aren't just another face in the crowd but a brother and sister in Christ.  Please pray for us in that we will find where God wants us to be.

God Bless!
